Dr. Claudia Schnugg is an Austrian curator and artscience scholar working at the intersections of art, science, and technology. Her practice investigates how artistic and scientific modes of inquiry collide, converge, and reshape contemporary knowledge production.

She is the founding curator of the Universe Pavilion (Venice, 2025), an experimental platform engaging with the cultural imaginaries of space, research, and technological futures. Across her projects, Schnugg develops formats that position artistic practice as a critical tool within scientific and institutional contexts.

Working internationally, she collaborates with artists, scientists, and research organizations including the European Space Agency (ESTEC), the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, and Helmholtz Munich. Her exhibitions have been presented at venues such as Universe Pavilion (Venice), iMAL (Brussels), Times Art Museum (Beijing and Chengdu), and the Fosun Foundation (Shanghai), Muffatwerk (Munich).

She is the author of Creating ArtScience Collaborations (Springer/Palgrave Macmillan, 2019) and has published widely on art, science, and technology. In 2025, she was named “Top of the Table” (Society) by Table.Briefings’ Space.Table.
